This last week was super successful. We had a lot of good things happen and the work continues to move forward.
We made it out to Ballantine this last week. That was the first time real missionary work had been done out there in the last six months that we could tell. Well, we started tracting one road that only had ten or so homes on it. It took us two hours to do that. Why you may ask? Because we were able to have a conversation with someone at almost every home. We had four families invite us back and we taught a couple of lessons while we were out there. The Lord was blessing us greatly. We are following up with them this week and are planning on knocking some more doors.
One couple we found there is A and M. They let us in and we were able to teach them briefly about the Restoration. A is from South-side Chicago as is our ward-mission leader. Br. Artis is heading out there this week with us so that will be really good.
This week was also jam-packed with meetings. We had a really spiritual Zone Conference on Tuesday and Stake Conference Saturday and Sunday. Elder Deshler of the Seventy was presiding at Stake Conference. Lots of good meetings and a lot of things shared about the importance of covenants, ordinances, and the prophets and apostles.
Last night we had a sing-along at the mission home. W, P, and J came. W and P had a lot of fun and it was a good experience for them to come to. I think they felt bad since their horse attacked us (long story, I might very well do a blog post on it).
So the scripture for the week is 1st Nephi 1:20. The Lord truly does bless us with many tender mercies, some I think we do not even realize. His hands are always guiding and directing us as long as we do our best.
Take care and have a great start to the best month of the year.

"The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men ..."
I love that quote from "To a Mouse". It really describes this last week.
We headed out to Hardin to do team-ups and to conduct a couple of baptism interviews Tuesday night. Well, Tuesday night came along and no one showed up. So Elder Hughes and Elder Sherwood, the Hardin elders, made some phone calls and the baptism candidates said that things were crazy. One of their uncles was found dead on the reservation earlier that day. So they rescheduled for Wednesday evening and we figured, "Well we drove all the way out here to do these, one more day won't hurt. Besides, we will be back in our area so we can do work later in the night." Well Wednesday evening... and no one showed up again. More phone calls and house visits moved them to Thursday morning. We thought "Well, we can do them in the morning and get out of here no later than twelve-thirty and get back to work." We finally left Hardin at about 2:30. Good thing is the interviews got done and all is well. We just have to figure out how to get out there for the five later this transfer.
The rest of the week went pretty ok. Lots of running around and trying people. We did find a new potential investigator. One of his best friends just died in the last week and he seems pretty open to hearing more. We are going to follow up with him this week.
We had a really good lesson at the Mc's yesterday and another good visit at the B's last night. W is remembering a lot of what we shared before and is doing really well. He turns twelve on Friday, so next step is the Aaronic priesthood.
Brother Artis, one of our ward-mission leaders, came down with a double inner-ear infection this past week. Because of that, Elder Moore and I led the Gospel Principles class on Sunday and the topic was family responsibilities. Therefore, the scripture for the week is "The Family: A Proclamation to the World." I love how the brethren 15 years ago addressed concerns and emphasized the family unit before everything started falling apart. It truly is the greatest statement on the family and it's role.
Have a happy President's day and stay warm.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
This week was a crazy one, full of lots of stressful moments. Luckily, everything worked out just fine and life is good again.
The big highlight this week came from Wednesday night. A member in the ward who just returned from his mission invited one of his co-workers to start taking the lessons. She is from Costa Rica and has been living in the states for only a short time. Because she speaks mostly Spanish, we met with her in the home of a family from Argentina in the ward. Both Bro. and Sis. Busto, the member's who home we were at, served missions when they were younger. That brought the total to three returned missionaries, the two of us that are missionaries now, and the lady from Costa Rica. Elder Moore and I did not understand a good portion of what was being said, but the Spirit was so strong as the Busto's bore their testimonies of the Book of Mormon.
Other than that things keep going strong. We had another good visit with the I family. Bishop Eyre went with us to visit T this last week and turns out that Bishop lives right next door to T's parents. Small world in Montana.
The weather has been in the 50's the last couple of days which has been a real blessing. The snow is gone, just in time for the next storm we are supposed to have this week-end. We are headed out to Hardin tomorrow to have team-ups with the elders out there and to conduct some baptism interviews.
Since today is Valentine's Day, the scripture for the week is 1st Corinthians chapter 13. I love how Paul emphasizes charity as the pure love of Christ and places it over faith and hope. As Mormon taught in the Book of Mormon, "pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God (Moroni 7:48)."
Again, have a happy Valentine's Day and a good week.

I'm dreaming of a white week...
This last week was a very white week for our district. Renee's baptism was Monday night, the elders in Hilltop had a baptism Wednesday, and the missionaries out in Havre had two baptisms. Our zone right now has twelve people with baptism dates, all within this transfer. Lot of good things going on right now.
Renee's baptism went really well. There was a lot of support from the ward and some of Renee's family and friends, who are not members were in attendance as well. The Spirit was really strong and everything went smooth.
The work continues to move forward. The I's and the B's are still doing really well. W was going to come to church, but his ride went to the wrong house. We are going to fix that because he was disappointed yesterday when we stopped by.
Besides the baptisms making it a white week, this week is going to be VERY white. We are expecting six inches of snow here in Billings for today and some more tomorrow. Since things are going to be so white, the scripture for the week is Isaiah 1:18. Our sins are so red, almost like the red that makes up the rims here in Billings. As we accept Christ and use the Atonement, our sins are made white and clean.
Well, time to go face the cold. Take care.
