3 Nephi 17:20 -24

20 And they arose from the earth, and he said unto them: Blessed are ye because of your faith. And now behold, my joy is full.
21 And when he had said these words, he wept, and the multitude bare record of it, and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them.
22 And when he had done this he wept again;
23 And he spake unto the multitude, and said unto them: Behold your little ones.
24 And as they looked to behold they cast their eyes towards heaven, and they saw the heavens open, and they saw angels descending out of heaven as it were in the midst of fire; and they came down and encircled those little ones about, and they were encircled about with fire; and the angels did minister unto them.

Best week yet!

This week was the best week I have had so far since being here in Blue Creek and Central. Elder Garcia and I taught eighteen lessons, had a baptism, found five new investigators, received a couple of referrals, people came to church, lots of service, and we still spent time fulfilling our calling as online assistants. Needless to say we were pretty busy but it was worth it!

Couple of highlights. Of course Jen's baptism was the big highlight of the week. It went really well and was very spiritual. One of the speakers forgot all about it, so I was asked ten minutes before to speak. I think I did an OK job with it, no one booed me off. There were quite a few non-member friends and family members that Jen invited; it was the first time a couple of them had set foot in and LDS church.

When Elder Garcia came down here, he put a status on Facebook that he was in Billings and an investigator from Poplar that he had taught commented that she was as well. Turns out she is living in our area! We were able to get in with her and her brothers this week, hopefully we can keep helping them.

The mission office got a call from a man who said he was a less-active member but wanted to come back and asked for missionaries. We went and stopped by and had a really good visit with him and two of his sons, neither of which are members. He is really sincere and has the desire to come back. When we tried to track down his records, turns out he was on the Monad records listed as a "Do Not Contact." The Spirit can help change people and everything in the Lord's time.

We have been doing a lot of service this past week as well. Brother Miller and his son have been working on fixing up their basement, so we got to help scrape tile, paint, and move furniture. It was lots of fun and it is looking better already!

The scripture for the week is Alma 32:26-43. We have shared this scripture with a lot of people this week and we are going to go over it tomorrow in district meeting. Check it out!

Thanks for all the support with the online proselyting effort. My blog post this last week had 76 views in four days and became the third most viewed post on my blog. We are seeing a lot of good come from people back home sharing messages and insights along with missionaries. Just as in regular door-to-door missionary work, we need all the help we can get.

Take care.

Little bit rockier, but the work is true

This week was a little rocky, but with the high points as well.

I just realized something that I did not share last week. Last Sunday Jen walked up to bishop and said that she was ready to get baptized. Last Monday we set the baptism date with her, and this Saturday she is taking that step. Pretty exciting.

The leadership training meetings this last week went really well. Elder Garcia and I gave a presentation showing how the principles from chapter 10 in Preach My Gospel apply to online proselyting as well as regular missionary work. Hopefully it helps the mission out.

Other than that it was kind of a slower week. We tried a lot of people but were not able to get in with many. The good thing is we set up quite a few lessons for this week, so we should stay pretty busy.

The scripture for the week is Moses 1:3-4. I love the part where God tells Moses that he is His son. The same is true with all of us; we are all children of God. As the apostle Paul taught, "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirits, that we are the children of God. (Romans 8:16)" Since yesterday was Father's Day, I think it is pretty important to always keep that in mind.

Just so you know, my personal blog was selected as blog of the week this week. Make sure to look at it more towards the end of the week for what I hope is my best post yet.

Take care and stay warm or dry, depending on where you are at.

Time...Gotta love it

This week was pretty crazy. Every day I realize more and more how time is such a precious resource. Elder Garcia did not get here to Billings until Wednesday night and so we have been on crunch mode ever since. Luckily, he spent a week here in Central about a year ago and so he already knows some of the people we are visiting.

Friday night was Ed Jobe's baptism. It went really well and was probably one of the better baptisms of my mission. You can tell the Spirit has truly touched his heart and he is making changes to follow those promptings.

The work moves forward. This week we are looking forward to the two Leadership training meetings, Billings on Tuesday and Helena on Wednesday. We are also hoping to set a couple more baptismal dates this week, so it is going to be pretty busy.

The scripture for the week is Alma 26:11-12. The reason is that it is the favorite scripture of both Elder Ika and Elder Garcia. It is a good one, check it out.

Have a happy June and a happy Father's day.

Well, the end begins. Sad day :'(

Today is day one of week one of transfer seventeen. I am having a hard time believing it is here already, does not seem like two years has almost gone by. Luckily, there is this transfer to give it the rest of what I have and do as much as I can. With transfers I am staying in Billings as the online assistant and Elder Garcia is coming in to take Elder Ika's place. It is going to be awesome!

This week was all about Roundup. We were up there from Wednesday to Saturday working for about 8-10 hours a day cleaning up from the flood. There was a lot of positive feedback and we were able to get a lot of things cleaned up. Pretty busy and pretty muddy, but very much worthwhile. There was actually a story on the news about us, the link is http://www.kulr8.com/news/local/Volunteers-Get-Roundup-Recovery-on-Right-Track-123168003.html?video=pop&t=a.

Since it was a week of service, the scripture for the week is Mosiah 2:17. If I have shared my insight before on it, forgive me. I love how in the verse it says that when we are in the service of our fellow-men, we are in the service of our God. A year ago in Great Falls I read this verse, was pondering it, and shortly after the Air Force flew over head. If you think of the armed-services, you are either on one side or the other; no fence-sitting in a war. When we are serving our fellow men, we are part of God's armed forces. The Lord does not need guns and tanks, just open hearts and hands that are ready to work.

Have a good week and enjoy the nice weather (I know I will be)
