This past week was pretty crazy and there are a lot of good things happening. On Wednesday we headed out to Hardin to do team-ups with the elders there and to conduct a baptismal interview. Well Hardin is about an hour outside of Billings and we were planning on making it an all day thing. Well as we pulled into Hardin at about ten o'clock, we got a call from Elder Ives who is over our mission vehicles. He told us we needed to have our car at the mission home by one because he had a potential buyer coming to look at it. Well it took some thinking, but we were able to make it all work out in the end luckily enough.
Elder Moore and I went out with Br. Artis, our ward mission leader in Shepherd, to visit a part-member family out in Worden. Well the member's non-member sister was there and was going through some hard times and so we were able to teach a really powerful lesson for her. Br. Artis was able to relate with a lot of what she was talking about and so his testimony was a great benefit for her.
Things keep moving. Brother G came to church on Sunday, WB is getting baptized next Friday, we are having fun cleaning up some of the records in the wards, we have a brand new 2011 Chevy Colorado we are privileged to drive, and the weather is back up in the 20's. Life is good.
The scripture for the week is 2nd Nephi 2:27. As 2011 begins, we can start anew this year on our goals and attitudes. We can choose to do those things that will draw us to God and leave those things of the devil. We can choose to develop a better habit of prayer along with our new exercise routine. We can choose to be more devoted to our church callings and to add feasting on the words of God to our personal diets. We can choose to follow the counsel of church leaders to stay out of debt and build a food storage. We can choose to be the person we wished we had been back in 2010. We can choose our Savior.
Celebrate the New Year and as the hymn states, "ring out the old, ring in the new... ring out the darkness of the land, ring in the Christ that is to be."
