Our district set a goal to follow the counsel of both Elder Perry and President Gardner and teach twenty lessons since it was the last week of the transfer. Well, Elder Moore and I worked really hard throughout the week and on Saturday night we were sitting at fifteen. That meant that yesterday was a crazy, run-around and get everything done kind of day. Best part, we did it! On top of that our district averaged the twenty lessons that we were shooting for. Pretty neat and a good way to transition to the new transfer.
Speaking of transfers, I am staying in Billings for another one along with Elder Moore. There are a lot of good things that are going on so it is pretty exciting that we get to be here for all of it. A lot of the families we visit and in the wards were pretty excited to here the news.
Renee's baptism is tonight which is really exciting. There should be a good turnout from the ward and a lot of support for her. Her childhood friends who introduced her to the gospel are coming up from Powell, WY, for the baptism as well.
We met a new guy named W who was a referral from one of the member's in the ward. He is really smart and knows a lot about the Bible, but realizes that he still has more that he needs to know. We will see how it goes in the upcoming weeks.
Everyone else up here is doing really well also. I think it is unanimous we wish the weather would warm up. Today is not going to get about negatives and tomorrow is supposed to be colder. YAY!!
The scripture for the week since we have the baptism tonight is 2nd Nephi 31:5-7. I love how Nephi just puts it out there that if Christ needed to be baptized, then so do the rest of us. It is amazing how the gospel can change people's lives. I have been reflecting on all the baptisms that I have been a part of and they have all been special and unique.
Take care and have a happy February.
